Schoolboy, 13, called a ‘Nazi and racist’ for supporting Reform UK | UK | News

A schoolboy supporter of Reform UK has claimed he was called “a racist and Nazi” by a member of staff at his school.

Charlie Simpson, 13, alleged a staff member at Quarrydale Academy in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, joined in when two classmates allegedly challenged him over some of his social media posts.

A member of staff reportedly told the youngster they had heard about his having been forced to resign as Youth Parliament rep for Ashfield and “had a wonderful time” laughing about him over the summer holidays.

Simpson stepped down from the politically neutral role, claiming in a statement posted on his X account that he was targeted for his “connections” with Nigel Farage’s party.

The schoolboy told GB News the staff member shared the news about his resignation with two classmates, who Charlie then confronted.

One of the pupils allegedly said to him that they had seen his social media posts on X and it wouldn’t surprise them if Charlie started leading a Hitler youth wing.

Charlie claimed the staff member joined in, allegedly adding: “Yes, Charlie, it would not be a surprise. You are a racist and a Nazi.”

The staff member then allegedly started laughing with the pupils, leaving Charlie feeling “defenceless” and “intimidated”. He went on to report the incident to his head of year, according to the broadcaster.

Express.co.uk has approached Quarrydale Academy, but a spokesperson for the school said in a statement published by GB News: “We take any concerns or complaints from our students extremely seriously.

“I am aware of statements that have been made during the weekend by Charles Simpson regarding a member of our support staff and his claims that verbal abuse was encouraged due to his political beliefs.”

They added the allegations were fully investigated as soon as the school was made aware of them, including interviews with staff members and the students identified by Charlie.

The spokesperson continued: “Following a thorough process, this matter has been addressed in line with the academy’s policies and resolved to the satisfaction of all parties.

“Throughout this process, Charles has been offered the full support of the academy, including opportunities to discuss and expand on any concerns he may have with senior members of staff.

“We believe these concerns have now been fully addressed, and we remain committed to supporting all our students, including Charles, in a respectful and professional environment.

“It is important to note that while we respect the individual rights of students to express their views, the academy should not be used as a platform for political views or indeed ambitions.”

The spokesperson said the school’s priority is to maintain a supportive, inclusive atmosphere for all students and staff.
