PC Muhammed Mustafa Darr stole a member of the public’s laptop too and was also sentenced for accessing police records, including a fraud investigation into himself.
The 39-year-old, who is no longer an officer, had pleaded guilty to three charges of misconduct in public office. He was sentenced to 40 months’ in
prison at Southwark Crown Court.
It follows a probe led by the Independent Office for Police Conduct into Darr’s offending between December 2018 and September 2020 when he was working in a response unit in North London.
IOPC director Steve Noonan said: “Darr was a corrupt officer and his offending, which spanned years, was appalling. He repeatedly showed a willingness to break the law.”
