Cornwall crash: Teenager killed and six injured after two cars collide | UK | News

A teenager has died and six others have been rushed to hospital after two cars collided in Cornwall.

The vehicles – two black Seat Ibizas – collided at a set crossroads between St Trudy and St Breward near the B3266 at around 11.15pm on Friday.

A 19-year-old man, who was a front-seat passenger in one of the cars, died at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers. 

Devon and Cornwall police said six other people suffered what are thought to be minor injuries and were taken to hospital.

Ambulance and fire services were also in attendance at the scene. 

An 18-year-old male from Bodmin has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing death by careless driving while unfit through drink or drugs.

He has been released on bail, pending further inquiries.

An investigation was carried out by Devon and Cornwall’s Police’s Roads Policing Team and have offered their thanks to the members of the public for their patience whilst the roads were closed. 

The roads were reopened at around 12pm on Saturday November 2. 

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to contact the police. Anyone who has not already spoken to them and may have dashcam footage are urged to come forward.
