Around 70 firefighters are at the scene of a blaze which has torn into two flats high-up in a London tower block. The London Fire Brigade has warned people to avoid Rosenthal Road in Catford as a huge emergency response takes place.
Videos from the scene show violent flames flickering from a window, smoke billowing into the sky. Crowds appear to have gathered outside an Aldi supermarket, opposite, as locals watch on in horror.
The window engulfed by the raging inferno is only three from the top, with no confirmation as yet as to whether anyone is still in the building.
The fire service was called just before 1pm, which is around two hours after the final inquiry report into the Grenfell tragedy was uncovered, revealing a damning set of findings into the tower block blaze that claimed 72 lives.
