A body has been found in the search for Sarah Cunningham, an artist who went missing during the weekend.

The woman disappeared after she was reportedly seen “getting into a dark Vauxhall with a male with long dark hair”.

The Metropolitan Police have said that Sarah’s family has been informed about the discovery on the tracks at Chalk Farm Underground station.

However, formal identification has not yet taken place. The body was found at around 1.11am on Monday.

In a statement, the Met said: “While we await formal identification, Sarah’s family have been informed of this development.

They have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time.”

The force added that officers are collaborating with the British Transport Police to investigate the circumstances, explaining that “the death is being treated as unexpected but at this time it is not thought to be suspicious.”
