A public schoolboy who attacked two sleeping students and a teacher with hammers at Blundells School in Devon can now be named as 17-year-old schoolboy Thomas Wei Huang after an order preventing his identification was lifted by a judge.
The schoolboy was sentenced to life in prison having been found guilty of three counts of attempted murder.
The trial took place at Exeter Crown Court.
The judge lifted reporting restrictions at the sentencing to allow the teenager to be identified.
But this was delayed after Huang’s lawyers appealed the decision. Mrs Justice Cutts then ordered a stay on her ruling.
But court officials have now confirmed that no appeal will be made meaning the reporting restrictions can be lifted.
