One person has died after an explosion ripped through a house in Bedford. The fireball engulfed a property in Cleat Hill, Bedford, this morning (October 19).
Nearby homes were evacuated, roads were closed and all day people have been told to avoid the area while Bedfordshire Police investigates. Another person remains in hospital after sustaining serious injuries.
A statement released from the police says: “Bedford Borough Council has set up an Emergency Assistance Centre for people who have been evacuated. Enquiries are ongoing to identify the cause of the explosion and residents still in their homes should keep their windows open.”
