A two-minute silence for Armistice Day was interrupted by a mindless protester.
The incident happened as millions of people across the country came together to remember those who have given their lives in conflict since the First World War.
The protester, seemingly protesting about the war in Gaza, was filmed by the BBC holding up a placard before a man wrestled it out of her hand.
A spokesperson for Reading Borough Council, which organised the event, said it was “saddened that the individual considered this an appropriate time and location to protest”.
They said Thames Valley Police was investigating.
The silence was overseen by Reading mayor Glenn Dennis who has previously described doing so as “an honour.”
The act of remembrance is held every year on the eleventh hour or the eleventh day of the eleventh month, the time at which hostilities in the Great War officially came to an end.
Remembrance events have often been a target for idiotic protesters oblivious to the fact that their freedom to do so is thanks to the sacrifice of those being remembered.
